Yah, I downloaded the Avira uninstaller yesterday for removing the antiviruis, but it was unable to remove the application. Finally, I downloaded the original antiviruis from the Avira website and get it removed by running the application.

Yes I would like to post a comment on the Avira Antivir product, it's been over a year since I 'uninstalled' your product, but every time I try to upgrade my Operating System even after using the removal tool and rebooting the system Windows 7 still refuses to install due to Avira Antivir leftovers, get your house in order please, I want to be free of your product. This tool worked great, I tried installing Avira about three or four times and kept getting a message that a previous version was still installed.

After running this tool and it cleaned up the registry it installed without a problem..

I will definitely use it again even if I have to pay for it.

I tried to download the Avira removal tool, with NO success. Did not happen.
Avira was recently recommended by Consumers much to my dismay. It is an invasive infective.
I would like to say malware; but do not want to be sued.
I am still living with the insidious problem.

I download Avira from my laptop to a jump drive and then to a desktop infected with System Tool 2011 v 2.20. However, the infected desktop will not permit the down load telling me that Avira is infected and cannot be activated.

Any suggestions?

I was trying to find a product to totally remove Avira Antivir Personal Edition which is impossible to remove from my computer. I have done everything including re-install it and try to totally remove it again - nothing has worked - I have gone into the Registry and removed all traces, etc. - it remains !!! The removal tool is advertised as being able to remove it totally - I was unable to download it for two days - then I got your email and downloaded it from the site you provided - I ran it and all it did was scan for malware, etc. and said my system was clean - I am not happy with any of this !!!

I can't get rid of Avira . It's all over the place, incridibely sticky into everything. Not even the avira remover works.I searched the net, folowed advices but no success. I gfuess I need something like a crusade.It's a very bossy program

yes with Avira I had to many problems, so I uninstall and never install or buy the Avira antivirus. Motive: the download of update start and never stop... so I uninstall the product that don't work well for me

I downloaded the Avira AntiVir Removal Tool and ran it after my Windows 7 control panel couldn't fully delete Avira Antivirus Premium. The removal tool also didn't work and got a msg "unable to read the feature control file". On initial start up I now get an error message about Avira. Any idea how I should I can clean it out!

i dont know what happened in the system but suddenly avira free av on my system is not working, it is not being deleted or reinstalled. a msg came when i started to update it that the problem willbe rectified if it is reinstalled. but nothing is happening or the avira folder is not being deleted. kindly find me a solution please

Jag inte varit ute efter att kunna ta bort Virus utan att ta bort ALLA filer efter en avinstallation och det kunde jag inte. Nu får jag ett felmeddelande om att Antivirus System Tray har slutat att fungera. Jag avinstallerade Avira programmet, men det senare antivirusprogram som jag ville installe, upptäckte att det fanns filer kvar av Avira, vilket gjorde att jag inte kunde installera.
Avira slöade ner min dator mycket, därav bytet...
Vad ska jag göra?

I have been using this program for quite a while and find it easy to use and effortless to update. I recently had a computer on my network attacked with a rogue program that not only infected the computer, but insisted the only way to clear the Trojans/ Viruses was to buy the product that loaded itself on to the PC,Avira cleaned away 2068 items and left the PC clean and usable once again. not bad for a free product. Highly recommended.

i tried this download to get rid of avira antivirus but it did'nt work. i have been trying to upgrade from vista to windows 7 but everytime i try it gets blocked because of the avira antivirus , i have tried every where to find it and get ride of it but have had no joy, i have contacted numerous experts on line and their solutions don't work and it is costing me money and time. even avira gmbh can not help.what are your suggestions to cure this. rgds mr i evans

I used the Tool to remove the Jhoos worm that had infected my contacts list. At this stage it is too early to be certain that it worked but I am happy to say that - so far at least - I have received no further indcications of infection.

When this come on my screen i thought it was a genuine site warning me of something, then on researching i find out its a virus, i must admit i was almost running to the toilet, instead having used CNET before i went on there site and they did confirm it as a virus. I put antivar64 into there search engine and your company not only has the best revieve from others it was a hit with cnet managment, so still hesitent i downloaded your removal tool. WELL it removed the Antivir.

BUT THE MOST ASTONISHING was the fact it found the Antivir on fast scan so i removed it, Then i did a SLOW scan (about 3hrs) but talk about worth it i was AMASED 32 other problems 3 high risk and 14 medium risk. i was going to delete these when the system advised to Quarantine them in case i needed a file or something. So 125% to you. I have kept it on my computer and set it to deep scan weekly. WHAT AN EYE OPENER and i would certainly be recommending it to friends not just for Antivir but for anything to do with virus or worms. WELL DONE GUYS and a BIG THANK YOU. i now have a totally clean computer. and FREE

seeing as how you are so nice about it I will say this-the tool is quite good for what it does-but I am sure you will not be surprised to know that I thought it might do something else ie. remove Avira itself so that I might load the new version.This seems to be something of a problem for many viz the chatter on the Net.Ordinary methods to remove the old avira do not work and the one person I saw claim to have removed it did not share his method with others.Unless you have any further advice I will just press on.Merry XMAS. Opinion.

Used tool and was happy have avira showing in my control panel and security center but not shown in my programs am unable to reinstall avira free because it states it is already on my system in security center it shows as running and up to date can not unistall and reinstall can you advise what I can do to fix this.

Opinion.

Virus such as worm tr has been effected update is not provided on time leaving the system effected. Unable to uninstall the avira software from my system. Update should be provided regularly to free user atleast thrice a day.
It displays message virus has been recovered but it is not able to delete the virus completely from the system. The same message is being displayed again and again (ie tr. Worm. Trojanworm)
When I scan for virus it scans files folders quickly but it is not able to delete the virus completely from the system. Scan is working fine but not able to update the latest virus treats. And also when I try to uninstall the avira it is unable uninstall the software from the system. If possible please treat this as most urgent and act quickly so that it will be of immense help to other using this software.
Hope you will react to this reply honestly.

I had Avira Antivir 9 and all of a sudden couldn't start it anymore. I've uninstalled it and as I wanted to downlod again, I couldn't install it no more because (it said)I already have one. I couldn't find any trace of Antivir and I thought with this removal tool I could clean my cp. Now if you ask, I'm telling you that it didn't work and at the moment I can not install again Avira. I know now that the removal tool doesn't help to remove the traces of Avira Antivir.

Your program said I had numerous viruses.

I was talked into trying your program and it seemed to work fine for a while. Then all of a sudden my screen filled up with virus warnings telling me I had about 8 different viruses and needed to buy your program immediately to get rid of them. Is that what it's supposed to do? Is it possible that a virus will telling me that? I just don't know. I downloaded your uninstall tool and still haven't been able to rid myself of parts of your program. A friend told me that there was a limit to the free time on the program and at the end it just tried to scare me into purchasing it. Please tell me this isn't true.
